Women’s health care covers far more than a single yearly visit. It spans preventive screenings, reproductive health, hormonal changes, and whole-body wellness that shifts as you move through different stages of life. Having a provider who knows you and can address these needs in a comfortable, familiar setting makes a real difference. That’s the kind of women’s health care I provide as a nurse practitioner.
I’m Krystal McIntyre, FNP-C at ChiroMed Crawfordsville. Women’s health is a central part of my practice, and I love being able to support women through every season of life.
Care That Changes With You
A woman’s health needs look different at 25 than at 45 or 65. What stays constant is the value of having a provider who understands your history and can guide your care as those needs evolve. Rather than seeing a different person each time for each concern, you get continuity.
That continuity matters. When I know your history, your concerns, and your goals, I can provide care that’s tailored to you rather than generic. And when both routine and sensitive topics can be handled in one trusted relationship, care becomes far less stressful.
Well-Woman Exams and Preventive Care
The well-woman exam is a foundation of women’s health. It’s a regular check-in focused on prevention, screening, and catching potential issues early, when they’re most manageable.
These visits include appropriate screenings for your age and health, along with time to discuss anything on your mind. I perform pap smears and provide the preventive screenings that help protect your long-term health. When something falls outside my scope, I coordinate referrals so you always know your next step.
One thing I aim for is efficiency and comfort. Where possible, I try to address multiple needs in one appointment rather than sending you to several places.
Contraceptive Counseling
Choosing the right approach to contraception is a personal decision, and there are many options to consider. I provide contraceptive counseling that walks through the choices in the context of your health, your lifestyle, and your goals.
My role is to give you clear, honest information so you can make the decision that’s right for you. There’s no pressure and no judgment, just support in finding what fits your life.
Menopause Management
The transition through menopause brings real changes that can affect your quality of life, from hot flashes and sleep disruption to mood shifts and other symptoms. Too many women feel they simply have to endure this, but support is available.
I help women navigate this stage with care tailored to their symptoms and health. We discuss what you’re experiencing and work together on an approach to manage it. Every woman’s experience of menopause is different, so the plan should be too.
Breast Health
Breast health education and appropriate screening referrals are part of comprehensive women’s care. I help you understand what to watch for, when screenings are appropriate for your age and risk, and coordinate referrals when they’re needed. Prevention and early detection are powerful tools.
A Comfortable, Judgment-Free Setting
Women’s health can involve sensitive and personal topics, and feeling comfortable with your provider makes all the difference. I work hard to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe to ask anything.
I believe healthcare works best when patients feel comfortable participating in decisions and partnering with their provider. My goal is for you to leave every visit feeling informed and supported, never rushed or dismissed.
Women’s Health as Part of Whole-Body Wellness
Because I’m your primary care provider, women’s health connects to the rest of your wellness. Hormonal changes affect your whole body, and concerns like bone health, heart health, mood, and weight are all interconnected. Addressing women’s health within the context of your complete health picture leads to better, more coordinated care.
